Rapid Pass Registration

Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the Metrorail on 28 December 2022. And today 29th December 2022 commercial passenger transport has started. In the meantime, there has been a lot of interest among the passengers regarding Metrorail ticket or Rapid Pass. Many people may not know how to register for Metrorail tickets or rapid passes. This article is for them.

A passenger can board or travel in two ways on Metrorail. Firstly by single journey ticket, secondly by rapid pass. A passenger can travel only once with a single journey ticket. Passengers can purchase such tickets through automated machines at station counters or manually from ticket counters. However, the single journey ticket must be returned at the end of the journey.

On the other hand, a passenger has to register first to take the Rapid Pass. Passengers can travel up to ten years with this pass. Only the travel fare should be recharged on the card as required. This card does not have to be returned to the passenger, he can keep it with himself. Initially, to collect this rapid pass, the passenger has to pay Tk 500/- (card value Tk 200, usable balance Tk 300). Before collecting the card, the passenger has to fill a registration form and submit it at the respective counter of the station along with Tk. 500/-. The registration form is available from DMTCL’s Facebook page or website.

Rapid Pass Registration has started from today.

All information to be filled in the form:

• 1. Name
• 2. Father’s Name
• 3. mother’s name
•  4. nationality
•  5. gender
•  6. Date of birth
•  7. National Identity Card/Driving License/Birth Certificate
•  8. occupation
•  9. Address
•  10. mobile number

By filling all these details a passenger will get his desired rapid pass.
